India Carney - 2011 Scholar

Singer-songwriter and actress, India Carney, turned what was once a dream into reality when she succeeded in making her national debut television appearances on NBC’s “The Voice” Season 8.  A multi-talented performing artist and vocalist, Carney sang alongside Grammy-award winner Christina Aguilera and American pop singer Jason Derulo. Carney embraces a wide range of musical genres from opera to musical theatre to pop.  Carney is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts and National YoungArts Silver Winner in Voice. Among her many accolades and awards, Carney’s performance credits include:  Special guest artist at the 6th Annual Crown Guitar Music Festival & Workshop in Big Fork, Montana, NYC’s Apollo Theater, New York Liberty Game Kick-off at Madison Square Gardens, Opening National Anthem @ Yankee Stadium for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball, The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, California’s premiere concert 26th Annual JazzReggae Festival, The Rose Bowl, Avery Fisher Hall, and Opera UCLA. Carney is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance and Music Industry Minor; alumna of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Manhattan School of Music Precollege and NHSI (Cherubs) @ Northwestern University.
